I waited until I had over 400 miles on the bike before writing a review, and so far, so good. I wanted a low priced dual suspension mountain bike to ride 3 – 4 times a week for about 25 miles at a time. My old bike had 26 inch wheels and no suspension, this one rides much better. I know that the suspension parts are not the best as they are just springs, but they seem adequate for my needs which is mostly on paved and an occasional fire road. If you need rear locking or want dampening, you will need to spend a lot more money.I ordered the matte black and blue model mostly because it looked like it had mounts for a water bottle cage, and it does. It also came with a side stand. In 400 miles, I have not had any problems, and have not had anything get loose or fall off. I assembled it myself, and didn’t have any problems or missing parts.I am 6′ tall and weigh 185, the bike fits well and has a nice ride, I really like the 29″ wheels. I am glad that I bought it and would recommend it to a friend as long as they are over 5′ 10″.UPDATE @ 3000 miles:The tires are almost shot, but I am going to try to get 3500 out of them. The only issue so far was the crank bearings got loose @ 2500 miles. I wanted to clean and grease them anyway so I ordered a crank puller and started. What I found was the fixed race was loosening (I never checked it before) and after a thorough cleaning and fresh grease, it was as good (better) than new.I thought that I would upgrade to an air shock, and I wish that I would have done this sooner. It made a huge difference. I found a cheap shock on the auction site E-B** for a little over $30 (HTL-100 MTB) the 150 mm shock is 5mm too short and the 165mm shock is 10 mm too long. I didn’t want to lower the ground clearance since I was already rubbing the pedals on corners, so I installed the 165mm shock, but if lower ground clearance is not an issue go with the 150mm. The 165mm shock works fine but the kick stand is a little short now, but I really like the ground clearance, and the ride has really improved over both small and large bumps.

I have owned several Schwinn bikes over the years so I decided to buy Schwinn again. However, it has been several years between my last bike and this one. This is not the Schwinn bike of years gone by. In my opinion the change to manufacturing them in China was a mistake. The quality is not the same. At any rate, this is not a bad bike for the money, it just needs a couple upgrades. First off, I replaced the seat with a better padded one. I opted for the TONBUX memory foam. I also replaced the crankset and bottom bracket because I was getting a clicking noise and clunk feel as I pedaled even after making sure all was tightened. I replaced with the BUCKLOS 104 IXF crankset and Hollowtech bottom bracket. I also installed a new KMC X8 8-speed chain. What an improvement! Much smoother pedaling and gear shifts. This is a great bike for the money. After assembly I took time to adjust the handlebars, the brakes, the seat, the derailleurs, etc. This wasn’t hard it just took patience and a couple Youtube reviews for guidance. The bike looks good and really handles the trails well. The big 29 inch wheels roll easily over rocks and roots. The brakes work great, the Shimano sets work great, the front and rear shocks work great. I really enjoy riding this bike especially now after the upgrades. I’m 5’11” and about 210 lbs. I’m 66 years old. I’ve found blasting down some wooded trails brings back some excitement and memories of my youth. Enjoy!

I went to the local bike shop and the owner pointed out that since I am nearly 6 foot 6 inches tall, I needed a larger bike, but they were out of stock and the waiting list was months long. So, I ordered the bike online from Schwinn’s Amazon store on sale for $549 USD. It typically sells for $799 USD.When the box was delivered, I tried to put it together myself. On my first attempt to ride, the front wheel and handlebars immediately loosened, aiming in different directions. I ended up paying the local bike shop $60 USD to put it together properly for me. I had made a number of mistakes and stripped three hex screws in the process. The instructions were confusing and they did not provide the hex tools needed to put it together. I would have at least appreciated the right bits. Also, the tires PSI should really be in the manual. It is difficult to read raised black print on a black tire.Other than the seat needing more padding for my boney behind, which is wholly a me problem, I rather love it. I will need to get used to the new shifters. I ended up spending $200 USD just on further upgrades, like lights, mirror, air pump, helmet and a water bottle holder.

Great price for a great bimeEasy to assemble. Easy to ride. Suspension is very comfortable. Shifting is very smooth and precise after small adjustment. Not a bike or seller problem but the box it came in was destroyed completely, shipping process was obviously rough and careless and slightly bent the front wheel. Can be easily repaired so not worth contacting anyone. Iām sure it was a one time thing.

Great for valueIt’s a nice bike, has some little issues such as the gear shifters not aligning. Expect to do adjustments but overall I am happy with it.

Slightly disappointingDisappointed. Purchased this for my son and upon putting the bike together (we followed all directions to a tee, so it wasn’t user error) had to take the bike into a bike shop to have them fix it. They had to fix the gears as they were not switching properly and they advised on servicing the breaks that one of the disks is slightly bent. It’s functional but not great quality. So on top of paying the price for the bike we had to pay an extra $100 to have the bike in working order.
